@ATACXGYM There’s some links on Youtube on how to do a Blast-Double. It’s
essentially a much more explosive form of a double-leg takedown, where you
place your head into the defensive person’s solar-plexus and drive from
there.

@ATACXGYM None wrestlers can be trained to stop a shot… but you are not
beating me from the clinch unless you are a top caliber wrestler. If I
scramble into a double from there, well fine, but I don’t want to shoot an
outside shot because it is too vulnerable to strikes and sprawls.

I see a few main questions in these post. 1.Yes you could get a cradle from
this position a bow n arrow would be perfect.2. If you change levels quick
enough you do not have to worry about being cross faced.3. A blast double
is a real move similar to a tackle with ur head in solar plex but usually
is only good for setting up other moves.4. This is wrestling not fighting
but if you can’t use a double leg in a fight you’re not switching levels
quick enough stick to the matt and stay out of fights!

What variant do you recommend for shooting the double on concrete? You
don’t want to crack your kneecap by planting your kneecap on
concrete, asphalt,or whatever that’s not as forgiving as the mat is.I have
my own variant which simply doesn’t place the knee on the ground, but what
do you recommend?

@darklord220 I do of course do this. But there are specific methods that
coaches of KOLAT’s caliber use or suggest as principles to work from. You
can change levels or not.You can use a G-R shot and take him with a upper
body clinch. But thank you for the suggestion,I very much appreciate it.

I’m pretty fast when I wrestle, but do you think I could get a cradle on
him from this?

@ATACXGYM It’s just my experience man… if you think you could make it
work go for it… I used my double plenty when I trained MMA, and although
it worked most of the time; I had even better success from the clinch. Good
luck.

would you scrape your knee if the ground was coarse

Comment from ATACX GYM KENPO
Time November 25, 2013 at 6:05 am

@blastdouble10 Yes.There are maaaany ways to enter a double without
touching the knee to the ground.Thevariants are only as limited as your
functonal training imagination is,although the end result is the same. The
number of variants depends on how you train to enter the double, and since
I’m NOT a wrestling specialist? I like to know what coaches of KOLAT’s
caliber thinks.
